SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 comes with a lovely new interface (Carbon 2.0) which features a Side Panel navigation that allows users to jump through to other SDL products and remain within the same interface.  What’s also cool is that you can also add your own items and tools to the side panel, and with this simple example, I hope to show you how easy it is.

Using SmartTarget 2011 with the SDL Tridion 2013 SP1
The latest version of SDL Tridion (2013 SP1) is built to work with the latest version of SDL SmartTarget 2014.  2014 does away with the Business Manager interface as it’s now integrated with the CME, so whilst it’s hard to believe anyone wouldn’t wish to upgrade, if there’s some reason you simply cannot and still need to use ST 2011 with Tridion 2013 SP1, here’s how.
Introducing ‘SDL Web’
Today SDL hosted an excellent webinar to introduce ‘SDL Web’, a sub-set of the Customer Experience Cloud (CXC) tool suite that was introduced earlier in the year.
With this blog post I aim to provide a high-level overview of the presentation as it showcased some amazing elements that I’m sure as Tridion developers we’ll all be using in our future projects.
Context Engine Webinar Resources
Today I gave an overview of the SDL Tridion Context Engine and how it can be used to provide device detection functionality for SDL Tridion Websites, with a focus on how simple it is to install and use in a RESS / Responsive website.
In the event you missed this presentation, the slides are available after the jump.
November SDL Tridion Webinar Presentation Materials
Earlier today, myself, Tanner Brine and Dominic Cronin presented at the bi-monthly SDL Tridion webinar. Follow this link to download all materials for both presentations.
Plugging the Context Engine into SmartTarget
The SDL Context Engine Cartridge is a Content Delivery cartridge that integrates with the Ambient Data framework of SDL Tridion. The Context Engine essentially provides a huge amount of information about the device, browser and operating system of your website visitor. Â This seemed like a perfect cartridge to integrate with SDL SmartTarget, so after immediately doing so, I thought I’d share my configuration.
SDL Tridion MVP Retreat 2013
Yesterday was the first day of the SDL Tridion MVP retreat and I thought it would be nice to share some pictures from the event and the place, plus some of the expected outcomes.
Deployer output directories & storage configuration
I recently set up a new SDL Tridion publishing environment where a single Content Deployer was used to publish a number of different publications to different broker databases, but to the same location within a web hosting environment. Â In doing so I discovered something I wasn’t aware of and though it might be worth sharing with the community.

What’s new in SDL Tridion 2013
Last week SDL / Nuno Linhares gave a fantastic presentation to the SDL Tridion community (watch online and slides available) about the cool new technical features available in SDL Tridion 2013.
I’ve provided a little summary after the jump, but really you should be clicking the link above and watching this first major presentation for SDL Tridion 2013. Â Thanks to all involved in the webinar
